At Converse, we understand that your finances matter and that attending college is an investment in your future. A lot goes into making a college education affordable.

Converse starts with low tuition that is the same in-state or out-of-state and is competitive with premier public universities. We then offer a range of financial aid programs, from endowed academic and talent scholarships to need-based aid and state and federal financial aid. If you’re considering a public college or university, Converse’s overall cost is comparable and even less than their costs. In fact, at Converse, we guarantee you will graduate in four years or less.

Financial aid and scholarships can make your overall cost even less, if you qualify. 93% of Converse’s students receive some form of need-based and/or achievement-based financial aid.

Cost of Attendance

Converse’s tuition is well below the national average of private, four-year institutions. We remain highly competitive among undergraduate peer institutions in the Southeast at both private colleges and regional comprehensive universities.

All first-time students (new and transfer) pay a one-time matriculation fee of $350 in the first semester of enrollment. Additional costs may be incurred for lab or other class-specific fees, transportation, and personal expenses and will vary by student. With very few exceptions, books and some supplies will now be covered at no additional cost to undergraduate students.

Our First Day Ready Program ensures that undergraduate students have the right textbooks and required course materials* for their classes by the First Day at no additional cost. This is another way Converse honors our students’ and families’ commitments.

*Please note: In limited cases, certain supplies and materials may not be covered, such as specialized art and music equipment and technology such as laptops, tablets, etc.

Student Government Association Fee

All full-time traditional undergraduate students pay an annual Student Government Association fee. The Student Government Association uses these funds to support and enhance the student experience. The fee supports clubs, organizations, campus celebrations, special events, yearbooks, and class rings.

All first-time traditional and transfer undergraduate students pay a one-time matriculation fee of $350. This fee will cover all new student orientation activities, graduation fees, graduation regalia, and up to a maximum of five (5) official academic transcripts. This fee is non-refundable.

Tuition, housing, and meals go further at Converse with many benefits, such as laundry, cable TV, and micro-fridges that you’d pay extra for at other universities.
