In 2022, Converse received a Growth Grant from South Carolina Humanities. Funding for the Growth Grants has been provided by the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) as part of the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 and the NEH Sustaining the Humanities through the American Rescue Plan (SHARP) initiative.
Thanks to this grant and a partnership with Spartanburg County Public Library, Converse has taken big strides towards preserving and digitizing more than 50 years of yearbooks. This newly established online collection helps to make the institution’s history and collections more easily accessible for both the Converse community and external researchers.
